Tracking & Ranking Cryptocurrencies
Currently, when you visit CoinMarketCap.com or CoinGecko.com (two leading cryptocurrency websites) you can track, trend and rank Crypto Tokens/Coins by Price, Volume and Market-cap.
So, why can’t we track, trend and rank cryptocurrencies by total “Network Transactions”?
“Total Network Transactions” is the TRUE and ACCURATE indicator of the net worth of any decentralized network. It tells us if the network is growing or contracting by simply looking at how many transactions the network is processing on an hourly, daily, weekly or monthly basis.
Display options should include Transactions per second (TPS), Transactions per day (TPD) and Transactions per Month(TPM). In addition display options should include “Average TPS” for the Day, Week and Month.
A small startup company ( https://blocktivity.info/ )has taken a stab at what I am describing above.
If you review their website, and then compare network transactions to price, you will see that the number of transactions a decentralized network is processing currently has absolutely NO correlation with the price of coins/tokens.
So, why doesn’t the number of transactions a cryptocurrency network is processing correlate with it’s price and net worth, when it’s the best indicator of growth?
To be put simply, the current cryptocurrency space is strictly based on HYPE and not true and realized value, YET.
It is time for the crypto-world to evolve, CMC and CoinGecko should make a page available that ranks all decentralized networks by “Total Network Transactions”.
Once this information becomes readily available, investors will start to factor in this new information into the net-worth of tokens/coins.
